CG2801 – Pre-Engineered and Modular Buildings

This package involves the design and construction of functional buildings, including all furniture and equipment. The buildings include Emergency Response and Mine Rescue Facility (repurposed freeze plant), Administration, Mine and Mill dry building, Laboratory, Heated Warehouse, Mine Maintenance Workshop, Heavy Vehicle (repurposed heated foldaway building), Mill Support Facility, Rail Support Facility, Washbay (temporary existing), and enclosed walkways. The facilities must satisfy technical, operational, safety and accessibility needs and be designed to function as intended over its life span.

CE2802 – Smart Endpoint Installation

This package involves the installation of communications infrastructure including WiFi and LTE infrastructure and equipment, site-wide access control mechanisms, CCTV cameras and a two-way radio system.

CA2911 – Integrated Operation Centre (IOC)

This package involves the design, renovation, construction commissioning, and turnover of the Integrated Off Site Control Room (IOC). The existing space is general purpose office space and includes a control room, as well as balance of IOC office/collaboration areas and associated infrastructure including elements of electrical, HVAC, communications and audio/visual.

The scope includes the general retrofit of the IOC including:

  • Detailed floor layout design (based on project functional specification)
  • Infrastructure changes such as electrical, lighting, HVAC, data and networking communications
  • Provision of IOC fit-out furniture, specifically ‘dog-bone’ type furniture
  • Supply and execute/construct the fit out of the facility including general office fittings, furniture and consoles/desks

CG2701 – Disposal Wells A&B

This package includes the drilling of a new brine injection well and installation of the relevant wellhead, plus the refurbishment of an existing brine injection well.

CG2901 – Air Compressor and Water System Main Pumphouse

This package involves all above-ground scope for steel, mechanical, piping and electrical installations associated with the main compressor house and the raw water pumphouse.

CC3101 – Offsite Rails – Earthworks

This package involves the offsite earthworks construction of the Joint Access Spur and the CN spur along with all the associated civil infrastructure of rail embankment, sub-ballast, culverts, road realignments, crossings and rail systems pads.

CC2701 – Fine TMA/Coarse TMA Phase 1B/Onsite Rail – Earthworks

This package involves executing all required earthworks for the Coarse Tailings Management Area. It includes rail track excavation and base-grade and sub-ballast work.

CR3101 – Onsite Rail & Joint Access Spur

This package involves the supply and construction of the onsite rail track, including track, ballast, crossing surfaces, signage and rail systems installation, as well as commissioning of the rail system.

CG2704 – Tailings and development spoils (DS) system SMPEI (Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical and Instrumentation)

This package involves the installation of the development spoils temporary equipment, as well as the SMPEI installation of the tailings equipment, including the barge, pipelines, e-houses, valve stations, pumps, and the brine injection system (e.g., pumps, piping, electrical and instrumentation). DS is used to address early mine development in advance of mill construction and commissioning. DS ore is diverted from the raw ore transfer tower to the DS slurrying system that consists of a series of mobile crushers and conveyors feeding into a slurrying tank and pumped to the Tailing Management Area.

SG6101 – Specialty Heavy Haul

This package includes the haul of complex and heavy loads from vendors’ shops to site. A mix of specialty transport and lifting equipment are required throughout the project as pre-assemblies, modules, and plant equipment are moved to site.

ST6601 – Camp Management, Catering Maintenance and Janitorial Services

This package involves providing camp services including catering, camp cleaning, laundry, recreation, building maintenance inside the camp, and overall management of the camp during the project construction phase. It will also ensure all services provided satisfy the multicultural and multigender requirements present in the Discovery Lodge facility.

SC6205 – Site Testing & Inspection Services (NDT, Steel etc.)

This package includes all independent non-destructive examination (NDT), steel testing and X-ray reviews, etc. required during the installation phase. Inspection services includes meeting the project requirements by performing third-party checks on work performed by construction contractors. Steel and piping NDT and inspection services will manage the non-destructive examination (NDE) program for steel testing, perform radiographic testing, and X-ray reviews.

CC2002 – Raw Ore/Product Handling Area – Foundations

This package involves the installation of the concrete foundations for the raw ore, product handling, and miscellaneous concrete, including the raw ore and product storage building foundations. The scope includes supply and installation of rebar, supply and installation of pre-cast elements, installation and finishing of concrete from onsite batch plant, grounding and backfill around foundations.

CG2002 – Module Yard Construction

This package involves the module assembly that will construct and free issue all pre-assembled units (PAU) to the three-process area SMPEI (structural, mechanical, pipeline, electrical and instrumentation) contracts. It will receive free issued steel from the PS0004 structural steel supply package and free issued major mechanical equipment from various procurement packages. As well, this package involves the assembly of all steel pre-assemblies and modules, procure, and install all bulks including cable tray, pipe, etc. In addition, fabricate all stick-installed piping and free issue to the three-process area SMPEI contracts.

CG2101 – Dry Mill Area SMPEI (Structural, Mechanical, Pipeline, Electrical and Instrumentation)

This package involves building steel and module erection, building roofing and cladding, mechanical equipment installation, piping installation, electrical tray and cable installation, and instrumentation installation. The scope of the package will cover the dry portion of the mill area including area 212 Dry Processing and area 263 Screening. The following equipment will be free issued: modules from CG2002, stick steel from PS0004, major equipment from various P packages and large bore piping from CG2002. The remaining materials will be supplied. This package has a large dry material handling component (e.g., chutes, ducts).

CG2102 – Wet Mill Area SMPEI (Structural, Mechanical, Pipeline, Electrical and Instrumentation)

This package involves building steel and module erection, building roofing and cladding, mechanical equipment installation, piping installation, electrical tray and cable installation and instrumentation installation. The scope of the package will cover the dry portion of the mill area including area 211 Wet Processing, area 213 Tailing Processing and area 214 Reagents area. The following equipment will be free issued: modules from CG2002, stick steel from PS0004, major equipment from various P packages and large bore piping from CG2002. The remaining materials will be supplied. This package has a large piping component.

CG1601 – Service Shaft Headframe Changeover

This package involves the change-over of the Service Shaft headframe from a sinking to a production configuration. The scope will remove the existing sinking winches, hoists, centre tower, foundation and electrical equipment before rolling the permanent headframe into place. The package also includes the conveyor from headframe and the raw ore transfer.
